Why hasn't my Direct Debit been taken?


If we're due to collect your Direct Debit at a weekend or over a bank holiday, then the payment can be delayed. Payments at these times can take up to 3 working days to be collected.

Your payment may also be delayed on a Monday. It can take up to 8 days for a bank to tell us if a Direct Debit has been successful or not.

This means that we can't tell if a Direct Debit has been declined until 8 days after the collection date.

If we're unable to collect a Direct Debit, we'll send you a letter and an email explaining what you need to do.
